How is TalonConnect different from your normal search practice? TalonConnect ia an online database where clients can search for candidates by industry type, keywords and location, then connect with them automatically and seamlessly. The pool of candidates is limited to individuals who are registered with TalonConnect, the majority of which are in-between full time positions. Passive candidates (those currently employed) will probably not be registered, although they're certainly welcome to join. Depending on the need, TalonConnect might be a sufficient recruiting solution. Other times, dedicated recruitment expertise might be required that can only be achieved through the normal search process.
Can I use TalonConnect to "try out" candidates temporarily before hiring them full time? You bet! This is a great way for you and the candidate to ensure the right fit exists, before making a full time commitment.
C'mon... is the first month really free? Yes, at least in terms of what you owe us. Safe to say the candidate will want to be paid something for their work, but that's between the two of you.
How do you determine when a client owes a referral fee for subsequent months? We'll send follow-up notifications to determine if the engagement will continue beyond the first month and if so, the anticipated duration. Based on your feedback, we'll send an electronic invoice for each month for the duration of the engagement.
What prevents someone from bypassing the agreement to avoid paying a referral fee to TalonConnect? Honor... honesty... the desire to do the right thing? No doubt it would be easy for the client and candidate to bypass the pledge they made; however, we're counting on more honest people doing the right thing rather than conspiring on how to beat the system.
What happens if you discover someone has exploited the program? Hang 'um from a tree... thake 'em out to the woodshed... introduce them to the pointy end of our boots? (Remember, we're from Texas.) Actually, if we determine that parties have "worked" the program and violated the spirit of their original pledge, we'll block them from TalonConnect and refuse to work with them going forward (including search opportunities). As we said before, we're counting on this to not occur too often.
